Anaïs Gassin

Anaïs Gassin fell in love with the violin at an early age, and went on to study at the Conservatory of Nantes.

She did her first internship in violin making at the age of 14 and discovered her vocation.

She spent 4 years training as a violin maker in Italy with the masters Negroni and Quercetani and studied violin with Luigi Mazza at the Conservatory of Parma.

In 2006, she graduated magna cum laude from the "Bottega di Parma" school in Parma and moved to Paris, where she specialized in new-making in Stephan von Baehr's workshop. At the same time, she graduated from the Conservatory of Meudon in violin with Guy Comentale as her teacher.

Further on, she also trained in restoration with Jean-Jacques Fasnacht and Iris Carr.

In 2012, she opened a workshop in France, followed by one in Brussels, Belgium, in 2019.

Interested in the contribution of new technologies, she has taken several courses in computer science and has been a student at École 42 (19 campuses) since 2022. She regularly runs training courses to teach luthiers how to use a programming language to generate the outlines of musical

instruments.

Laureate in 2015 of the Banque Populaire corporate foundation, the quality of her instruments is acclaimed by numerous international soloists such as Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Raphaël Pidoux and Nicola Benedetti.
