Anton Somers, born in 1986, Antwerp, Belgium.
Anton's journey began with a deep-rooted love for woodworking. At the age of 16, Anton started his education in the Violin Making School of Antwerp (ILSA).
2006 - 2011, Anton embarked on a professional journey within a local workshop in Brussels. After this period, Anton decided to establish his very own workshop.
In September 2016, Anton took on a teaching role at the Violin Making School “ILSA”. In 2021, Anton made the decision to conclude his teaching tenure, allowing him to devote himself to the flourishing of his own career.
In 2021 the book "Anton Somers Vioolbouwer te Antwerpen ~ 22 Instruments of the Violin Family 2012-2021" published by Darling Publications was unveiled to the world. This book displayed Anton's dedication to his craft.
In the summer of 2022, Anton made the decision to relocate his workshop to the historic heart of Antwerp. This move signaled a new era in his career. It underlined his commitment to growth, expansion, and the pursuit of excellence in violin making.
Anton's instruments have earned worldwide accolades not only from discerning musicians but also from astute investors who treasure them in their private collections.
